4 campaigners of a candidate killed in Paktia

GARDEZ (Pajhwok): Supporters of candidates facing attorneys in southeastern Paktia province on Monday said the Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC)’s decision against the hopefuls was unjust.
Dozens of supporters of the four Wolesi Jirga candidates gathered in protest in Gardiz city, the capital of Paktia, today.

GARDEZ (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) has invalidated thousands of votes in southeastern Paktia province and has referred four Wolesi Jirgacandidates to the Attorney General Office (AGO) over fraud allegations.

GARDEZ (Pajhwok): As rumor has it, some Wolesi Jirga candidates allegedly gave people ‘fake currency notes’ to buy their votes during the Oct 20 parliamentary elections in southeastern Paktia province.

 

GARDEZ (Pajhwok): Protesting candidates in southeastern Paktia province on Tuesday rejected Saturday’s Wolesi Jirga elections as massively rigged.
Addressing a press conference here, Wolesi Jirga candidate Syed Jamaluddin Asifkhel alleged government officials such as district administrative heads, police chiefs and others supported certain candidates during elections.

GARDEZ (Pajhwok): The Independent Election Commission (IEC)’s regional office on Tuesday declared 78 polling stations as high-rink areas in southeastern Paktia province.
The commission officials said there were a total of 199 polling stations in Paktia and 78 of them faced high security threats and 36 middle security threats.
