4 campaigners of a candidate killed in Paktia

 
GARDEZ (PAN): Half a dozen bullet-riddled bodies have been found in the Zurmat district of southeastern Paktia province, officials said on Tuesday.
Deputy Governor Abdul Hai Sahi told Pajhwok Afghan News the corpses were recovered in Guldadkhel area, but it remained unclear who had killed the individuals and why.

 
GARDEZ (PAN): An Afghan military commander on Monday claimed a group of Pakistani Taliban tasked with carrying out attacks in central Logar province had been eliminated.
The Afghan National Army’s 203rd Thunder Military Corps commander, Gen. Mohammad Sharif Yaftali, told local and foreign journalists the group had been sent to Logar by the Pakistani Taliban leader, Hakimullah Mehsud.

 
GARDEZ (PAN): A would-be car suicide bomber has been arrested in southeastern Paktika province before he could reach his target, police said on Wednesday.
Police detained the bomber in Gardez, the provincial capital, said Lt. Gen. Zalmai Oryakhel, the provincial police chief.
He indentified the detainee as Gulab Jan, a resident of southern Ghazni province, saying he intended to carry out the attack in Gardez.

GARDEZ (PAN): Hundreds of people rallied in Gardez, the capital of southeastern Paktia province, against Governor Juma Khan Hamdard on SundayAround 300 individuals took part in the protest called by the Paktia Rescue Movement, organiser Mohammad Zahir Oryakhel told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said tribal elders, civil society members, youth representatives and residents took to the streets against slow-paced development projects in Paktia.
