ZARANJ(Pajhwok):Eng.Samiullah has formally resumed work as new governor for southwestern Nimroz province amid pledges to root out administrative corruption and ensure security.
Samiullah was previously deputy minister for water and energy and was appointed as governor following suggestions by the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) to President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
Speaking at a gathering arranged in his honour, he said he would also prevent the waste of water in the province and would develop plans for better management.

KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): The residents of northeastern Kunduz province have registered around 500 complaints about growing insecurity specifically militants’ highhandedness and inefficiency of judiciary, provincial council officials said on Saturday.
The provincial council election results of the April 5 ballot were announced in November 2014. After the elections result, the parliament decided to curtail role of provincial council regarding evaluation of performance of local departments and let them only to advise local officials.

KONDUZ (Pajhwok): Officials said that several mines of natural reservoirs such as petroleum, phosphorus and oxy acetylenehad been existed northern Kunduz province but their extraction could not yet start due to the reasons best known to high authorities.
Bordering Tajikistan, Kunduzhad six mines with most famous petroleum, phosphorus, oxy acetylene, stucco and stones that were being used for construction purposes.

KUNDUZ (PAJHWOK): The Provincial Council members of northeastern Kunduz province warned to hold protest rallies if a presidential decree empowering PCs was not implemented in letter and spirit.
On January 28, Wolesi Jirga--- or lower house of the parliament --- barred the provincial council members from overseeing the performance of local departments. Earlier, the council of ministers headed by the president decided to take back the overseeing and evaluation powers of provincial councils.
