KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): The Kunduz provincial council on Thursday said the Taliban had equipped themselves with weapons and ammunitions after overrunning the provincial capital, posing a serious security threat to the residents.
But security officials insist Taliban have been defeated comprehensively. The city was overrun by the insurgents on September 28, but three days later, it was retaken by security forces. It took government troops around two weeks to clear the city of insurgents.

KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): The situations in the capital of northern Kunduz province remains tense and uncertain as residents claim the Taliban have recaptured some of areas they lost during a recent operation.
Amruddin Wali, deputy head of the provincial council, told Pajhwok Afghan News on Thursday the rebels had once again captured the ports, ring roads, including the Khakni, Seh Darak, Khayaban, Khwaja Mashhad and some others areas.
He claimed forces had pulled back from these areas, where no fighting took place last evening.

KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Taliban torched a marketplace and two private banks in Kunduz City, the capital of northern Kunduz province, and recaptured some areas, residents and provincial council members said on Tuesday, but security officials flatly rejected the claims.
Amruddin Wali, deputy provincial council chief, said during Tuesday’s clashes Aziz Bank trade market, and Bakhtar and Ghazanfar bank branches were torched.
He told Pajhwok Afghan News people had been complaining about homelessness, hunger and other problems, but there was nobody to listen.
