KANDAHAR (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) on Tuesday announced invalidating 3,000 votes in southern Kandahar province and some individuals referred to judiciary over alleged rigging and fraud during the Oct 20 parliamentary elections.
Karimullah Stanikzai, IECC head for Kandahar, told reporter here that 170 polling stations were open in 11 police districts of Kandahar City and 17 districts where people exercised their right to vote.

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Some Wolesi Jirga candidates in southern Kandahar province on Sunday alleged the parliamentary ballot was massively rigged in the province and that they would not accept votes without biometric verification.
The candidates also demanded the central government dispatch an authorized delegation for inspection of a recount of all Kandahar votes.
Tens of Wolesi Jirga candidates attended the press conference in Kandahar City to raise their demands.

KANDAHAR (Pajhwok): Some protesting Wolesi Jirga candidates on Wednesday disrupted inspection and vote recount at 22 polling stations by Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IEC) officials in southern Kandahar province, an official said.

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Some tribal elders in southern Kandahar province on Monday held a gathering to announce they would support Dr. Shiada Abdali if he contested the upcoming presidential election.
The elders held the meeting in Aino Mena township in Kandahar City, the provincial capital.

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Though some problems and violations marred the Wolesi Jirgaelections in southern Kandahar province, yet the overall process was a success in the province, an election observer said Sunday.
Ziba, an election observer in Kandahar in an exclusive interview with Pajhwok Afghan News said a limited fraud cases occurred in Kandahar compared to past elections due to the usage of biometric system.

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Displaced and disabled 65-years-old Haji Abdullah, a resident of southern Kandahar province, says he cast his vote in the Wolesi Jirga elections for change in his country.
