Women’s active participation in polls urged

 
Known for its historical buildings and minarets, Herat is one of the largest provinces of Afghanistan. It is located in the west of the country.
Situated at 63 degree latitude and 43 degree longitude, Herat shares its borders with Badghis and Turkmenistan in the north, Farah in south while Ghor in east Iran in and in west.
As per 2009 estimate, its population touched the figure of 1,676,000 while its land area is 5,586,853 square kilometer.

 
Two family members of the victims of Shindand bombardment by the US forces said the two have lost nine family members in total and have different views on elections.
US forces last year bombarded a ceremony in this area where according to the official figures 90 civilians including 60 children, 15 male and as many women were killed and dozens of others sustained injuries.
Nawaabad the village where the attack occurred locates 30 kilometers south of Shindand district and 120 kilometers south of Herat city.

 

 
Herat (PAN): Complaining of growing insecurity, bad governance, poor health facilities, and outdated agriculture system, the residents of Herat Province demand of the government and the international community to take immediate measures to ameliorate the situations.
Noor Mohammad, a resident of Shindand District said that insecurity haunts the people of his area and no one is feeling safe. He said that the root cause of all problems is insecurity, which needs to be improved.

 
HERAT (PAN): People of the western Herat province demand of the government and international community to take accelerated measures to improve fledgling security, education sector, and health facilities. 
They want the authorities and global community to come forward to address the pressing problems their community confronts with including construction and pavement of roads and bolstering the agro sector.

 
 
1-      Radio Herat: 
It is among the oldest established radio of the country. It broadcasts on FM 105.5 in the city and its surroundings. The radio broadcasts under the administrative control of government Radio Television of Herat in two separate shifts form 07: 00 am till 10:00 am and then 04: 00pm till 7: 00pm. Tariq Jami is the managing director of the radio.

Herat (PNA): Insecurity in the volatile Herat Province is getting deteriorated dramatically, posing a grave challenge for the government to reverse the tide of lawlessness, said residents and members of provincial council of the region.
Authenticating concerns of the residents and members of provincial council regarding lapses in security, the concerned authorities held out promises to launch targeted search operations to purge the area of militants. The officials said that no stone would be left unturned to improve security and law and order.

 
Herat (PNA): Authorities say that education sector is moving ahead with tandem in the Herat Province and there are no visible hurdles to stop its progress.
Provincial Education Director Abdul Baseer Arween Tahiri says that “schools are functioning well in the center as well as in districts. Schools and education institutions are safe even in insecure areas where people extend their every possible cooperation to the education authorities.

 
Herat (PAN): Though the economy of Herat people mainly depends on agriculture and livestock, business and industries activities witness record boom, officials said.  
However, people of the province complain of facing multiple problems in agriculture and livestock sectors.
