NEILI (Pajhwok): Electoral complaints are being investigated in central Daikundi province, where the Reform and Unanimity team, has filed no objection, an official said on Saturday.
Ismatullah Hatif, the electoral watchdog chief for Daikundi, told Pajhwok Afghan News that 23 complaints had been registered in connection with the April 15 runoff vote.

NEILI (Pajhwok): An elderly woman travelled for miles to cast her vote at a polling station in Neili, the capital of Daikundi province, saying she wanted the new president to ensure peace, progress and prosperity.
The woman, who was brought on a donkey to cast her vote, expected the new president would establish schools for the coming generation.
Saraee, 50, arrived at the polling station amid scorching heat as her village has no paved road. She said: “I underwent difficulties for the sole purpose to vote for a candidate who can steer the country out of crisis.”

NEILI (Pajhwok): Some individuals distributed pamphlets bearing pictures of presidential runner Dr. Abdullah Abdullah and Mohammad Mohaqiq inside two polling centres in central Daikundi province.
A resident of Neili, wishing anonymity, said a number of young men and women were asking people to vote in favour of the reforms and unanimity team and handed them the pamphlets of Abdullah.

NILI (Pajhwok): Speaking to thousands of his supporters in central Daikundi province, presidential runner Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai on Wednesday pledged that he would launch multidimensional development projects and encourage female education if he won the June 14 presidential race.
Speaking to a mammoth gathering in Nili, the provincial capital of Daikundi, Ahmadzai said he would introduce Jafari jurisprudence in country’s Sharia universities if he won the ballot.

NELI (Pajhwok): Officials of the Independent Election Commission (IEC) in central Daikundi province on Monday expressed concerns about shortage of ballot papers for the runoff election.
IEC Director Qasim Qaseem told Pajhwok Afghan News preparations had been finalized for the June 14 runoff vote but their main concern was lack of ballot papers.

NILI (Pajhwok): A provincial council candidate was fined 50,000 afghanis on charge of committing fraud in the April 5 elections in southwestern Daikundi province, an official said Thursday.
Mir Hussain Nazari, provincial Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) spokesman, said that Mohammad Zahir, a provincial council candidate, was fined on charge of copying and removing other candidates’ names from ballot papers.
He said fake ballot papers were distributed among his supporters to project that other candidates were disqualified.
