Mazar-i-Sharif (PAN): Education in the Balkh Province moving ahead with tandem but the shortage of professional teachers, textbooks, and absence of proper building for schools create barriers to promote the vital sector in some districts of the province.  

BALKH (PAN): Lying in the north of Afghanistan, the Balkh Province has immense geo- strategic importance and a known hub of commercial and political activities.
Mazar-i-Sharif is the capital city of Balkh Province, the region presents a scenic picture as it is located between Maimana and Pul-i-Khumri Highway.

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (PAN): Though the agriculture sector is the main source of revenue generation for more than 85 % people of the northern Balkh Province, the vital sector is in constant grip of multidimensional problems.
Almost 60% land goes uncultivated every year because of shortage of irrigation water, however, efforts are on to build water canals, setting up processing factories, explore markets for agriculture products in an apparent attempt to bolster the sector.
Agriculture:

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (PAN): An International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) commander in the northern zone has said Afghan security personnel have the capacity to secure the 2014 elections on their own.
Addressing a news conference in Mazar-i-Sharif on Saturday evening, Maj. Gen. Jörg Vollmer said 2014 would be an important year to the Afghans because they themselves be providing security for the elections.

What country has the most expensive election campaigns in the world? At a first glance the answer may be obvious; in the recent US elections over 2 billion dollars were spent, and combined with the other elections held at that time, the total spending is estimated to over 6 billion.

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (PAN): A key opposition alliance on Sunday warned next year's presidential elections would not be transparent if the government clung to its anti-democratic approach to a proposed poll law.
National Coalition of Afghanistan spokesman Fazal Rahman Orya told a gathering in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province, the biggest hurdle to the elections was the government’s anti-democratic approach to the draft law.
