مېرمن عسکري : ولايتي شورا ته پر نوماندۍ پښېمانه يم

MAIDAN SHAHAR (Pajhwok): A woman candidate from central Maidan Wardak province on Tuesday regretted running for provincial council elections.
In an exclusive interview with Pajhwok Afghan, Halima Askari said:  “Due to the electoral deadlock and the concomitant feuding, I repent contesting the elections.”
The presidential election impasse had also forced a delay in provincial council results, which should have been announced much earlier, she remarked.
The provincial election preliminary results were announced two months back, but the final outcome is yet to be made public.
Presidential and provincial elections were held simultaneously on April 5, but the former went to the second stage, followed by a deadlock that delayed the provincial results as well.
The female contender asked for the early announcement of the provincial election results. “I would have never filed nomination papers if I had a clue to the current situation.”
Eng. Noorullah Pegham, the election commission director, said the final results would be announced after complaints were addressed by the Independent Electoral Complaints Commission.
