برخى موسسات مربوط به زنان در ننگرهار فعاليت غيرقانونی دارند

JALALABAD (PAN): Several women’s welfare NGOs are operating in eastern Nangarhar province without coordination with the Women’s Affairs Department, an official said on Monday.
A number of NGOs were getting funds from donors, but did not inform the department regarding their activities, Women’s Affair Director Anisa Imrani Pajhwok Afghan News in an exclusive interview.
“In order to misappropriate funds, they don’t share their activities with us. But we are monitoring their work and expose their corruption, something unacceptable to us,” she said.
Without naming anyone, she alleged top officials of the NGOs appointed their family members to lucrative posts and most of their money ended up in the pockets of such individuals.
The organisations claimed conducting training workshops in remote areas of the province, but in fact they did nothing except stealing funds, Anisa Imrani complained.
She said they had already complained to the governor’s office regarding fraud by the NGOs, but nothing had been done to prevent unfair practices. As a result, the director added, they were left with no option but inform departments in Kabul.
Najia, a woman hailing from Jalalabad, criticised the women’s affairs department for inviting their favourites to workshops and seminars.
Relatives of the department’s employees were the beneficiaries of the government’s coupon system, which was launched three months ago in the province. Deserving women had been deprived of the facility, she charged.
Imrani acknowledged the distribution of coupons to the employees, saying they were more deserving than others.
