Panjsher province has seven administrative units and its capital city. Panjsher has small agricultural land but still the people of the province mostly associate with the occupation of agriculture, vegetable and fruit orchards. A large number of people work in the demining of precious stones. 
1.      Bazark, the provincial capital:
Situated to the northwest, Bazark is the provincial capital. It shares border with Baghlan province. The province has 28 villages with an estimated 371 kilometers area. Its population strength stood at 52,000 individuals. Though the province has small cultivable land, people still mainly associate with the agriculture and orchards. Other people work in coal mines to eke out their livelihood.     
 
2.      Paryan District:
 
Paryan is known one of the largest districts of Panjsher, which is laying at a 78 kilometers distance to the north of the provincial capital. Paryan has borders with Badakhshan, Takhar, Baghlan and Nooristan provinces. It has 67 villages with a total 1270 quare kilometers area. Its population surged to 43, 000 individuals. 
      
3.      Khanj District:
 
Khanj is known as the central district of the province, which lies at a distance of 25 kilometers from the provincial capital. It is the second largest district after Paryan. Bordering with Noooristan and Baghlance provinces, Khanj has 154 villages and the district occupies a total 688 square kilometers area. The strength of its population is estimated at 110, 000 individuals. Some of its people associate with the occupation of agriculture and gardening.      
4.       Dara District:
 
The district is situated at a distance of 30 kilometers to the south of the provincial capital. Bordering with Laghman and Kapisa provinces, the district has 134 villages. It has a total 709 kilometers area with an estimated population of 45, 000 individuals. Its residents work in their fields and coal mines as well.   
 
5.      Rakha District:
 
The district is situated at a 2- kilometers distance from the provincial capital toward south. It shares border with Kapisa province. With 72 villages, Rakh has a total population of 45, 000 individuals.  
 
6.      Anaba District:
 
Laying at a distance of 16 kilometers toward southwest of the provincial capital, Anaba is a small district.  Sharing border with Kapisa, the district has 34 villages with a total population of 45, 000 individuals. The district has small cultivable lands but most of the people associate with the occupation of agriculture.
7.      Shatl District:
 
Located to the west of the provincial capital at a distance of 20 kilometers, Shatl is a small district. The district shares border with Baghlan province and comprises 23 villages. Having a total 55 kilometers area, the district has a total population of 18,000 individuals.
8.      Abshar District
 
The Abshar is located to the north of the provincial capital at a distance of 45- kilometers.  The strength of its population has reached to 22, 000 individuals. Most of its people work in their fields or eke out their livelihood by working in coal mines.
