Kapisa is amongst the central provinces of Afghanistan. Panjsher to its north, Kabul and Parwan to its west, Kabul and Laghman to its south while Lagaman is located to its east too.
Mahmud-i-Raqi is the capital of the province, which is located 65 kilometers toward north of Kabul.
Kapisa is the historical province of the country. At least 620 years ago during the reign of Aryana, it was the capital city of King Kinikshah who ruled the Indo sub-continent--- the existing India, Pakistan and Bangladesh as parts of his territory from Kapis.
Kapisa province is situated on 69 degrees and 21minutes of eastern longitude while 35 degrees of northern latitude. It is 1500 meters above the sea level and spread over 121 square kilometers area.
Climate:
The province has four seasons. It is cold in winter and hot in summer while the weather remains warm during spring and autumn.
As compared to Kabul, Kapisa is located on a little more height above the sea level.
Grapes and pomegranates, the abundantly producing fruits of Kapisa province are being exported to other countries.
The province receives annual rain as measured between 300 to 400 mille liters while temperature during the summer remains 25 to 45 degree Celsius. 
Education:
Kapisa made some sort of tangible progress in education. The province has 115 primary, intermediate schools and other educational institutions. It has Al Baurani University having eight faculties that serve the students.
Other educational private and public institutions provide education to the people with girls in Kapisa go to schools with the exception of Alasai and Taghab district because of security reason.
Celebrities:
Kapisa has known celebrities including Ghazi Mir Masjadi Khan who took part in first Anglo-Afghan war and played a courageous role by leading the Mujahidin of northern Afghanistan to the victory against English’s first invasion. Similarly, Ghazi Abdul Karim, Ghazi Usman Khan Sapi is amongst heroes of the province.
Ghafor Ghafori is a prominent educationist; Mia Gul Jan Agha of Taghab is a famous religious personality. In addition, people of the province will never forget the services and sacrifices rendered by martyr Engineer Habib-u-Rahman.
Historical Sites:
Kapisa province got prominent status in the history. The province has ancient sites such as Zargar area in Kohistan district which attract tourists in large number to have a glane of this historical site.
The Abdullah Tower is yet another ancient site located in Sayad area in the capital city of Kapisa province.
Rigoran is another area having historical importance. Most of the sites are located in Taghab and Nijrab districts where people in summer season visit the area in large number.
Agriculture:
People in Kapisa have little plain area for agriculture because its mountains spread on larger swath of the province. People cultivate wheat, beans, and corn in some part of Taghab, Nijrab and the capital Mahmood-i-Raqi.
Fruits such as pomegranates, grapes, nuts serve as the back bone of the province economy.
Sports:
Alongside traditional games, contemporary sports such as cricket, volleyball, football and other games have large number of fans and players.
Media:
Private and state-run media serves the people of Kapisa and keep them abreast of day to day development. The media operating in the province include The Kapisa National Radio Television having 12 hours broadcast, Nijrab Radio and Bahar private Radio. In addition, the province has other print and electronic media such as Kapisa Weekly, AsriTamadon, Kohsaran and other weeklies.
Culture:
Pashtun, Tajik and Pasha Tribes reside in Kapisa side by side. It people lead a simple life in a traditional way. They celebrate special national and historical occasions with national zeal and enthusiasm.
