KABUL (Pajhwok): Soon after the announcement of the final results from the presidential vote, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Abdullah vowed to establish a parallel and inclusive government.
Late on Tuesday, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced President Ashraf Ghani had won the September 2019 election with 50.64 percent of vote, followed by Abdullah.
At a news conference here, the CEO claimed winning the ballot and called on his supporters to rise against what he called bogus votes. “Fraudsters are rogues; we will establish an inclusive and representative government.”
According to the poll outcome, he bagged 39.52 percent of vote (720,841). But the CEO insisted his team was the victor and thus reserved the right to form the next government.
"The result announced today was a result of election robbery, a coup against democracy and a betrayal of people’s will," insisted Abdullah, who had leveled allegation of industrial-scale fraud in the 2014 vote.
