KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) on Tuesday announced closing registration of appellant complaints and officially starting addressing 6,300 complaints.
Zuhra Bayan Shinwari, IECC head, told a press conference in Kabul that the appellant complaints were registered from 29 provinces.
According to her, 853 appellant complaints in Paktia, 818 in Nangarhar, 1,573 in Kandahar, 505 in Kabul, 485 in Paktika, 772 in Khost, 225 in Kunar, 214 in Helmand, 132 in Logar, 177 in Laghman, 142 in Ghor, 86 in Ghazni, 60 in Nimroz, Punjshir three, 42 in Kapisa, 28 in Zabul, 20 in Daikundi, 16 in Herat, 18 in Farah, 14 in Kuduz, Bamyan six, 12 in Nuristan, 80 in Baghlan, four in Faryab, three in Balkh, as many in Sar-i-Pul, two in Badakhshan, two in Nuristan, as many in Samangan and two appellant complaints in Uruzgan have been registered.
She added appellant complaints had been not recorded in Parwan, MaidanWardak, Takhar, Jawzjan and in Badghis provinces.
Shinwari said that the process of addressing the appellants’ complaints has been officially launched and as well as investigation by their technical teams.
She once again promised to stay impartial and address the appellant complaints based law and electoral procedures.
IECC commissioner and spokesman Mohammad QasimIlyasi told media persons here that most of the complaints were against non-biometric votes, difference between votes, suspension of votes and voting before and later of the official time.
He said their discussion was underway over a list of suspected 5,387 polling stations for a vote recount and audit in 19 provinces.
Meanwhile, QuatbuddinRoidar, an IECC commissioner, said the registration of appellant complaints process came to an end on Monday and it would be addressed within 15 days.
He said the IECC central office officially launched addressing the appellant complaints today and after completion of the process, the result would be shared with media.
