Construction work on 3 Kapisa road kicked-off

MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): Construction work on three roads has been initiated in first Kohistan district in central Kapisa, which would be completed with a cost of $12 million, an official said on Thursday.
Abdul Fatah Shafiqu, the district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News that construction of 100 kilometers long road would connect first Kohistan, second Kohistan and Kohband districts with each other. 
The transit road which would have four link roads in first Kohistan would be ready for traffic this year, he added.
Shafiqu added that a road would be extended to Sanjan area in first Kohistan where no road project could be initiated during the last 14 years. People, he said were facing with numerous problems because of absence of a proper road in the area.
The road would cost $12 million, which would be built through Public works department, the district chief said.
Hussain Sanjani, head of provincial council, said the building of the road would resolve many problems of three Kapisa districts. “The roads have been neglected for the last 14 years and the people have been facing problems due to poor roads,” he noted.
Officials of Public work department assured construction of the roads would be completed by the end of this year.
Shair Nazar, a resident of first Kohistan district, said the residents could not shift their patients to hospital on time. People had to cover a long distance on foot and faced many problems to reach hospital, he added.
