Nimroz elders drum up support for governor

ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Some tribal elders of southwestern Nimroz province on Saturday demanded the incumbent governor to continue his job while others expressed concerns over the performance of the governor.
As many as 200 elders marched towards the building of Borders and Tribal Affairs Department and praised Governor Amir Mohammad Akhundzada for improved law and order, development of agriculture and forging unity among tribes in the province.
A tribal elder Abdul Rahim Niazi said that Akhunzada personally paid visits to security check posts and monitored security situations across the province.
Provincial Council chief Mohammad Sadiq Chakhansuri said every tribe of Nimorz province were happy with Amir Mohammad and wanted him to continue his job.
Maulvi Ubaidullah, a religious scholar, said individuals who came from abroad worked as governor did not perform well because they had little knowledge about ground realties.
Earlier, reports said some acting governors would be reappointed as governors in some provinces.
