QALA-I-NAW (Pajhwok): Hundreds of people during a gathering announced support for Dr. Abdullah Abdullah in the capital of western Badghis province on Monday, an official said.
The presidential elections headed to runoff as no one of presidential candidates obtained 50+1 percent of ballot cast during the April 5, presidential and provincial elections. 
Two frontrunners, Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai and Abdullah Abdullah would contest in the second round of elections scheduled for Jun, 14.
Following the runoff campaigns, Dr. Abdullah arrived in Badghis along with his running mates and delivered speech to his supporters.
He pledged to implement development projects in Badghis to resolve problems facing by the people if he won the ballot.
Though Badghis was the most neglected province, but he would explore measures to pave way for greater development of the province once he was elected as president of the country.
The former foreign minister urged people to actively participate in the election and foil possible fraud attempts.
A Wolesi Jirga member from Farah province, Ghulam Sarwar Faiez said Abdullah was a leading Mujahid personality and people should vote him for a prosperous Afghanistan.
