KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) on Thursday said election teams had registered 1,560 objections against the body’s decisions ahead of the official closing time (today).

 

KABUL (Pajhwok): People in various provinces on Sunday welcomed the announcement of preliminary results from the September presidential election, but criticized the outcome’s prolonged delay.

 

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) on Sunday said protesting candidates had three days to register their complaints about the presidential election initial results.

 

KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani has won the September ballot by bagging 50.64 per cent of the votes, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced on Sunday.
Chief Executive Officer Dr. Abdullah Abdullah stood second with 39.52 per cent, the commission said while unveiling the long-delayed preliminary results.

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) on Wednesday said it might have legal reservations about 300,000 votes and would explain its point of view in this regard after announcement of the preliminary election result.
Mohammad Raza Fayaz, IECC deputy spokesperson, told Pajhwok Afghan News possibly some complaints had been registered about some categories of the 300,000 votes or the IECC could have its own legal reservations related to these votes.

KABUL (Pajhwok): In response to the ‘Stability and Partnership’ electoral team’s protests, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Saturday said its duty was to protect people’s votes independently as per the law and would never allow outside meddling.

KABUL (Pajhwok): The vote recount and audit process has been completed in 27 provinces, while decision regarding the remaining seven provinces would be taken soon, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) said on Thursday.

KABUL (Pajhwok): Some lawmakers on Sunday asked the Independent Election Commission (IEC) to declare preliminary result of the presidential election and the government to prevent electoral teams from disrupting the electoral process in provinces.
