KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) on Monday said electoral objections from some provinces were on the table with commissioners for final decision.
Mohammad Reza Fayaz, IECC deputy spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that categorization and review of some objections had been completed and the process would be wrapped up on schedule if no problem happened.
“Objections are first classified, then reviewed and analyzed, some cases are awaiting commissioners’ final decision,” he said.
The IECC started responding to electoral objections six days ago. The objections include complaints about suspicious votes, none-biometric votes, votes polled out of time, difference of votes and some other issues.
Election tickets have registered nearly 6,300 appealing objections and the IECC should respond to them within 15 days.
Presidential election was held on September 28, 2019 but final results are yet to be revealed.
