KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Tuesday announced final results of the Wolesi Jirga elections from Balkh, Badghis, Paktika, Ghor, Herat provinces and the Hindu minority constituency.
IEC head Hawa Alam Nuristani told reporters here that Ghulam Abbas Ibrahimzada, Ahmad Shah Ramazan, Alam Khan Azad, Abdul Hameed Sharifi, Syed Zahir Masrour, Mohammad Ali Muhaqiq, Gul Rahman Hamdard, Abdul Khaleq, Saifura Niyazi, Fawzia Hameedi and Breshna Rabaiwon had won the elections from Balkh.
In Paktika, Mohammad Mirza Katawazi, Nader Khan Katawazai, Khaleq Asad and Suraya Akbar have emerged victorious.
Suraya Akbari has replaced Hela Mujtaba in the final list of successful candidates from Paktika, said the IEC head.
According to Nuristani, successful candidates from Herat provinces included Habib Rahman Pedram, Mohammad Raza Watandost, Umar Naseer Mujadidi, Haji Mohammad Sadeq Qaderi, Ghuram Farooq Majroh, Ustad Hameedullah Hanif, Munawar Shah Bahadur, Haji Shah Popal, Syed Azeem Kabarzae, Haji Nazir Ahmad Hanafi, Alhaj Ghulam Farooq Nazari, Syed Taha Sadiq, Rahima Jami, Masuda Kurkhi, Nahid Ahmad Farid, Semin Barakzai and Shahnaz Ghusi.
The IEC head named winning candidates from Badghis as Ziauddin Akazai, Abdul Nasir Usmani, Amir Shah Naebzada and Ustad Farida Baigzada and from Ghor province as Ibrahim Malakzadah, Atta Mohammad Dehqanpur, Karamuddin Razazada, Gulzaman Naeb, FatemaKohistani and Ruqia Nael.
Malakzada, who won most of the votes in Ghor, has recently died.
Narendar Singh Khalesa was the only winner from the Hindu minority.  The IEC head said they held a meeting on rescheduling of the presidential election but preference was given to announcing the election results.
