FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Many people in western Farah province said they did not find their names on voter lists at polling stations they visited on Saturday.
Pajhwok reporter met with dozens of people at polling stations in Farah City Stadium, Mirman Nazo school, Nafesa Tawfiz Mirzai school, Arbab Kala school and Malai school.
Those interviewed said they had registered as voters in the same polling stations but did not find their names in voter lists there.
A police officer Mir Ahmad said his wife had registered as voter at the Nazo School, but her name was not there. He added around 70 individuals who had registered in the polling stations were not in the voter lists.
Abdul Sabor, director of Nafesa Tawfiq Mirzai School polling station, told Pajhwok that they allowed no one to cast vote if not included in the voter list.
Meanwhile Pajhwok reporter saw under age people casting their votes in Farah city, the provincial capital.
On the other hand, Omid, an observer of Abdul Satar Hussani, a Wolesi Jirga candidate, said he took pictures of underage boys who used their votes.
But a provincial council member Farid Bakhtawar beat him, snatched his phone and deleted the underage’ boy photo.
Abdul Jalil Bakhtwar, father of Farid Bakhtwar, is also contesting the Wolesi Jirga election from the province.
Farid Bakhtwar was present at the polling station, but he did talk with media.
A number of other observers also confirmed Omid’s allegations.
