BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): Local officials on Friday said Taliban insurgents attacked important electoral materials in Shibar district of central Bamyan province, but the materials sustained no damages.
Mohammad Azim Farid, Shibar district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News that insurgents attacked on important electoral materials in Sangpar area of the district on Friday but they could not inflict damages to the materials.
He said Taliban were still firing from nearby mountains but reinforcements from Bamyan city were on way to the area for pushing the insurgents back and reopen the road that blocked as result of clash.
If the road not reopened, election would not hold in two polling stations, Farid concluded.
