Ghor female governor vows to defeat Taliban

FIROZKOH (Pajhwok): Donning a military uniform, the governor of western Ghor province on Tuesday visited Dolina district to show her support for security forces.
Seema Joinda traveled 110 kilometres from Firozkoh, the provincial capital, and reached Shah Joy locality of Dolina district. Joinda said Afghan women like Malalai did standby security forces and did not leave them alone on the battlefield.
She said security forces were like her sons and she wanted to be closer to them. “The purpose this visit is to tell the Taliban that Afghan women will stand against them in the defence of the motherland alongside our security forced,” she said.
She said Afghan security forces would find their brothers and sisters with them in difficult hours. The governor dubbed Taliban as puppets in hands of outsiders.
Gul Badan, a local woman with a gun in her hand, said besides household responsibilities, she was ready to fight the extremists.
She alleged Taliban unleashed atrocities on residents of Dolina after capturing the town, but security forces drove them and retook the district from their occupation.
