TRINIKOT (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen shot dead director of education of Chura district in central Uruzgan province inside a mosque, the governor spokesman said on Tuesday.
Dost Mohammad Nayab told Pajhwok Afghan News gunmen forced their way inside a mosque and shot Momin, director education, dead when he was offering Tarawih prayers.
The official died on the spot, he said, adding that the attackers fled the scene. Police had started investigations to nab the culprits.
Abdul Karim Khadimzai, provincial secretary, said the director served on the post for four years. The slain man did not have personal enmity with anyone, he added. 
No group so far claimed credit for the attack.
