1 held with 130 kg heroine in Nimroz

ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Police in southwestern Nimroz province on Wednesday arrested a smuggler and recovered 130 kilograms of heroin from a truck he wanted to smuggle to Iran, an official said.
Police Chief Brig. Gen. Mohammad Qasim Jangal Bagh, said the contraband was concealed in the track and recovered by police during search at the zero point area of the border between Afghanistan and Iran.
He said the truck was empty and was heading to Iran to bring imported goods back to Afghanistan from Abbas Port in Iran.
Provincial Council Member Mula Gul Ahmad praised police officials in controlling smuggling of drugs to foreign countries.
Ahmad said the government should take effective steps by destroying poppy crops and provide urea and refined seeds to farmers to cultivate wheat and other crops.
Last week, police also captured 50 kilograms of heroin from a truck that was being smuggled to Iran.
