Wolesi Jirga member survives bomb attack

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): A parliament from northern Baghlan province escaped unhurt in a roadside explosion on Sunday, when his car was damaged in the attack.

The bomb attack on Wolesi Jirga member Mohammad Azim Mohseni happened on the Kabul highway in Doshi district at 12: 40pm, a police officer said.

Col. Hamidullah told Pajhwok Afghan News the remotely-controlled device hit Mohseni’s car. He blamed the blast on the government’s armed opposition, saying a research had been launched in the area.

Rasool Mohseni, former provincial council chief and the lawmaker’s brother, was killed last year along with 16 others in a suicide attack claimed by Taliban.

Safdar Mohseni, the current provincial council head, said: "After meeting me in my office, my brother came under attack in Doshi district on his way to Kabul."

He also accused the Taliban of planting the roadside bomb, but said his brother and companions were not harmed.
