MAIMANA/MAHTARLAM (Pajhwok): At least seven people were killed 10 others wounded in rocket attacks and a clash in northwestern Faryab and eastern Laghman provinces, officials said on Saturday.

Three people including women and children were killed and five others wounded in a rocket attack near a polling station in the Ghormach locality of Maqur district of Faryab, the police chief said.
Col. Mohammad Naeem Andarabi told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident that happened in the afternoon did not disturb the voting process.
Separately, five campaigners for Dr. Abdullah Abdullah were wounded in a clash with police at the Khurasan polling site, said the crime branch chief, Ihsanullah. The clash erupted when armed individuals tried to force their way into the polling station.
In Laghman, two women and as many children were killed in a rocket fired by militants in the Lwar Mori locality of Qarghayee district, the governor’s spokesman said.
Sarhadi Zwak added the incident happened at 11:00am. Such attacks were carried out by insurgents, he alleged.
