Ahmadzai promises development projects for Faryab

 
MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Presidential runner Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai on Monday promised to convert the poor northwestern Faryab province to a hub of agricultural and economic land and implement projects if he won the April 5 vote.
Speaking to thousands of his supporters in Maimana, the provincial capital, Ahmadzai said Faryab was a rich province in natural resources and he would take measures to extract the underground precious if he won the elections.
Ahmadzai added he would connect Faryab province with a railway network with the neighboring Turkmenistan to Aqina, Hairatan and Sher Khan Ports of the country.
He said he would invest in constructing Faryab’s Aqina dry port connected to the neighboring Turkmenistan, and would revive Khwaja Qachi port which had used for commercial transportation and importation with Turkmenistan in the past.
He said construction of Almar water dam, Badghis ring road connecting Faryab and Herat provinces, and promoting carpets’ industry were among his top priorities.
