5 injured in mortar attack on PC office

ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Five people were wounded when a mortar shell fell in front of the provincial council office in Asadabad, the capital of eastern Kunar province, on Wednesday.
Jamaluddin, the council’s deputy chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the mortar shell had been fired by the militants from Watapur district at around 12.30pm.
Four visitors and a provincial council member’s son were injured in the incident. Asadabad Civil Hospital Director Dr. Farooq Sahak confirmed receiving the injured.
He said two the wounded were in critical condition and they could be referred to the Jalalabad Civil Hospital. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
